August 11th, 2008Moshe’s Week - and Moshe’s Friends Who Need Prayers
August 11th, 2008Hi again,
Thank you to all those who have been rallying around Moshe and our family - giving and caring in so many ways.Thank you to everyone for the davening, tehillim, special outings, visits, card swopping visits, afterschool lessons, hats, yarmulkas, games, activities, chocolate brownies, coloured
sprinkle biscuits, sweets, sabras, cakes, delicious dinners, shabbos treats, ….
This week Moshe begins with bloods and Chemo on Monday morning. Then off to radiotherapy at lunch time. The rest of the week he will bh be able to go to school (when he eventually wakes up) and then he leaves school just after midday for radiotherapy.
Moshe you are a shining child. Everyone cares about you. May your light radiate forever more and more. Continue entertaining us with your song and dance routines.
Please continue to daven for Moshe Yair ben Bayla Tanya for a complete recovery so that he will grow up to live a good life. Can we also daven for his friends:
- Malki bat Raisel Nechama (Malki who is 11 years old was diagnosed in London 2 weeks after Moshe with exactly the same tumour in the exactly the same place in her nasal cavity)
- Tal Eitan bat Sarah Rafaella (Tal is 8 years old and is also having Chemo at the Donald Gordon with Moshe)
- Also Devorah Leah bat Michal ( Devorah Leah is a Mommy and also undergoing Chemo).
We wish you all strength.
Continue to do mitzvahs for our children, your children and all Hashem’s children. It is through this doing and giving in all kinds of ways that we can grow. Hashem helps us to grow in all kinds of ways. Just have faith.
May all our children grow up to live good lives - may they grow with Torah and may their children continue to be a credit to all of Israel.
Love,
The Altschuler famly
Moshe - Card Collector Extraordinaire
August 8th, 2008Moshe’s Week - 8 August
August 8th, 2008BH Moshe has had a good week. He is tough and has the most amazing spirit.
Wakes up in the morning between 7 and 9, even on school days. What a life. BH he has been going to school. He wakes up singing at the top of his voice and then he even dances. He even dances with his breakfast bowl - while standing of course! He is full of spunk.
When I told Moshe that one day soon BH things will be back to normal and he will grow up beautifully and normally he told me that no one is normal. I (his mom) have glasses… so life is such.
Moshe still has cravings - Yogi Sip, hot dogs, lettuce, grapes and pancakes… which turned into crumpets. He either smells or sees a food and then suddenly he wants that food immediately.
Moshe entertains us with his spontaneity. He also WANTS to do homework / work for soccer cards.
Hashem is taking us on this journey. Please let Him guard us.
We are all Hashem’s children. May we continue to give Hashem joy.
Have a wonderful Shabbos.
Love,
Ezra

Update from Monday 28th July
July 30th, 2008Hi,
Here is an update on Moshe. Baruch Hashem he is good. He had a temperature on Friday and was almost kept in hospital for Shabbos. The doctor gave him antibiotics to take home.
On Monday he had bloods, a chemo injection and radiotherapy. His haemoglobin is a bit low so he is having a blood transfusion now. Then off to Sandton Oncology for some quick radiotherapy and then home.
He is doing well. If he can get up in time we will PG go in to school on Wednesday and then there will be more radiotherapy. This is daily for the next six weeks and then back on a drip for chemotherapy in the hospital…..and so the road goes.
He has got a great spirit. He almost met the Manchester United team last week. Any keen soccer card collectors should call Moshe to swap with him.
Also you are welcome to check his website @ www.moshealtschuler.com He loves to read the messages on his site. Go in and have fun.
Take care
Love Jackie
In Hospital For Shabbos????
July 25th, 2008Yesterday Moshe went in for bloods - the results were fair. Nupregen injection at home - to boost white blood cells - must continue. Mom did it on Thursday because our dear Doctor friend, Avron, was not in town to do it this time. Moshe was very brave. Anyone who needs lessons in bravery with needles talk to Moshe about some tips.
Then Friday morning arrived. Woops - slight temperature!!!! ….Does this mean in hosptial for shabbos?????????? Oh no!!
Got all packed and ready with entertainment for the weekend and shabbos…
Moshe got to the hospital - met with all his hospital friends - Tal, William, Jaimee Lee… had his bloods done. And then finally met with the doctor - Wow. Moshe was NOT staying. What a relief. Just some Augmentin and Moshe was saved. Home with the family 4 Shabbos. Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all the friends and family warming our lives with love, care and
davening. We feel surrounded in the most beautiful way.
Have a good shabbos.
B’ahava
With love
Ezra, Jackie and boys
