The Manchester United Story

Good day all,

Something happened yesterday which makes us very proud of our dear son Moshe.

Yesterday we received a call from Reach for a Dream South Africa. They called to tell us they had 2 tickets available to meet the Manchester United Soccer team (this is the team that Moshe supports in the English soccer league).

They wanted to give Moshe one of these tickets which is like gold. What an opportunity to meet these great players face to face and get his soccer kit signed by the whole Manchester team! Truly a great opportunity and a dream for sports-loving boys.

We mentioned it to Moshe and immediately his eyes lit up and got so excited.

We said Moshe would love to meet the team and asked when and where we should go to meet them.

The lady on the other side of the telephone line said, “4.30pm Friday afternoon at Monte Casino”. Yes, that time is 45 minutes before Shabbat comes in and Monte Casino is 35 minutes from our house!

Moshe immediately understood and said to us, “Ok, so I cant go because we cant get back before Shabbat. It really does not matter”. And with that he carried on with what he was doing beforehand.

He still continues to be a Manchester United supporter.

He truly continues to set an example to us of a wonderful and glowing Jew. SHEKOACH MOSHE!

Shabbat Shalom,

Love the Altschulers

    Moshe,

I can’t wait til Adam and Zevi get home so I can tell them this amazing story!!

They are going to be SO IMPRESSED with you - you are such a tzaddik.

And they are also going to CRY…!!!

Both of them are big MU supporters just like you, and my gosh, you’re right, that would have been the most amazing dream come true. But G-d willing another place, another time, and who knows, maybe you’ll get a chance to see them play in person one day THAT will be worth waiting for. :-)

Kol hakavod to you - we can all learn from you. :-)

    Shabbat shalom,
    Jill

    Moshe,

You really are a great kid, but take my advice, NEXT time, tell your parents to put you all up at the hotel there for the weekend!! Then you could have met them and maybe won some money at the casino!!!
    shabbat shalom
Adam - The next greatest Man Utd supporter after Moshe

I’m happy to know that United have a permanent move for Carlos Tevez. I feel he should stay at Old Trafford because this is where he belongs.

I can only see more positive out of this and my sincere hope is that both for him and the club, the more great success will follow.

What do you think about this? Do you think United should keep him permanently? I would love to hear your thoughts/comment/opinion on my blog. I’ve just posted an article about this.
